AMP Flex Program (part-time program) 12 month program. 3 weeks of the 52 week program is in Sydney. on successful completion eligible to join an AMP financial planning practice Must have completed RG146 training including Financial Planning Life Insurance Superannuation Managed Investments Generic Knowlege and Skills Skills and experience Excellent relationship-building skills, demonstrated via previous work experience A proven ability to proactively meet (and exceed) targets A driver's licence and Australian permanent residency Combination of Sydney-based training and home state training (3 days a week) You'll be supported by tutors, financial planners and expert coaches who'll mentor you on how to excel in this exciting – and growing – industry. What's more, you'll be given the opportunity to offer advice to clients after a 10 week induction. For the part-time program you follow the advisors then give advice yourself after week 20 (after week 10 for the full time program). You can convert to the full time program after week 20 without having to do additional training. In sydney there is an additional allowance of $420 a week. Hotels cost $300 to $700 a week and are within walking distance of the center. You are supposed to have a car. You'll receive a salary of $34,737 per annum (including 11.5% superannuation). This is $31,154 a year or $551 a week after tax. Plus the pension this would be approximately $767 a week. For the full-time program: there is an additional weekly allowance paid while relocating to Sydney for training, not sure about the part-time program. You are employed on a fixed-term 12 month contract while studying (includes annual leave and sick leave) There are 4 intakes per year, one every 11 weeks. At the end of the 12 months the aim is to join a practice within the AMP network or start your own financial planning practice. After the 10 week training course (full time option) there will be nine months of on-the-job training with the AMP Horizons Financial Group (Horizons Practice). The Practice operates in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth After the 10 weeks you start seeing your own clients. The Sydney center is near the St Leonards train station. There are about 1,000 applications for each intake of 30 to 36 but lack of RG146 compliance is the main reason for being filtered out. About 100 graduates per year. Weeks 3 – 7: Five weeks part-time practice placement at Horizons Financial Group in candidate’s home region, including structured learning and practice manager observations and mentoring. Week 8: One week full-time skills assessment lab at AMP Horizons in Sydney to attain Representative status (must have completed Diploma of Financial Services/RG146 compliance at this point). Weeks 9 – 20: 12 weeks part-time Associate Planner placement in Horizons Financial Group in home region, with first client contact established under the guidance of practice managers. Further 7 months: Full-time or part-time professional year as Representative. The first intake of the new program will start on 29 October 2012.
