My suggestions for developing countries. Mark McIlroy 1. Change land laws to allow large scale farming. It is much more productive to have one landowner/business owner with 100 employees than 100 people each trying to farm a small area of land. 2. Provide government assistance to businesses to purchase equipment and expand. 3. Stamp out corruption among government officials. 4. Encourage new businesses especially ones with potential to export. Make getting licences quick, simple and cheap. 5. Try to settle and end any military conflict within the country. 6. Don't spend too much on military equipment. 7. Have a high minimum wage. This gives people money to live, but also takes money from people who simply leave it in the bank and puts it into the hands of people who buy goods and services and start businesses.
